Welcome to Suomiindo

I’m Dennis de Jong, born in The Hague, the Netherlands, raised by my Indonesian parents, and now living in Jyväskylä, Keski-Suomi , Finland.
Yeah, I already loved the snow in the Alps, but life in Finland is a whole different story.

That’s why I started this website – so I don’t have to keep answering the same questions over and over again. 🙂 and I want to find out why Finland is the happiest country in the world.

Finland is not only the Sauna! Although it is very very nice 🙂

This coming period I will interview or blog about people who are connected with Keski-Suomi but also from whole Finland.

Real stories that connect us. Sometimes serious sometimes funny but always with a smile 🙂

From 🇫🇮 Local Finnish people – from nurses to shopkeepers. 🇺🇦 Ukrainians living, studying or working in Central Finland and also 🌏 International expats and students– from Nigeria to Thailand, Brazil to Iran, Indonesia to Cuba. I have a lot to do 🙂

So, I’m Suomiindo. Why that name, you might wonder?
Well, quick explanation:

The word Suomi means Finland in Finnish.
And Indo… well, that stands for my Indonesian roots, of course.

51 years old (yeah, literally old), quite a bit of life experience, and still a gamer (not a noob!) since counterstrike 1.6 . Was clanleader and community founder of several clans.
Ever since my Amiga 500 days (now that’s an old PC), I’ve been gaming and building my own PCs. More offcourse on Discord and Twitch but not now yet.

I have to build a new rig to beat the noobies out there. Owned by a 51 old is the best thing I can give to you. If you are a gamer you know that you are noob when you got owned by this old guy.

I was a street kid, learned the hard way how life work.
School I was bored and I did not like it so after my schoolhours I worked already at 13 to provide myself for my money.

Off course that is not the way kids!

You can better finish your school so life will treat you more easy.
The better on school the better job you will get later.
Without degrees is hard to get a nice paid job so better learn well.

I didn’t always make the right choices, but I always lived with respect.
And what am I trying to say with that?

If you treat me with respect, I’ll treat you with respect!

Martial arts, music, food,Tesla,Bikes and (E)-sports have always been the foundation for me to survive and relax but more about that all later!

No I was not a rich kid but I enjoyed every day with smiling although not everyday was perfect.

But remember kids. Your parents really know better then you how to enjoy life.

But the best thing about life is..you are the director.
You can make it easy or you can make it hard. It is your choice.

You have to appreciate the beauty in life and do what makes you happy.

I’m married to a wonderful Finnish woman Nina and we have three kids but more about that later.

Please don’t take this site too seriously and JUST SMILE.
That’s what I always do and I want you to smile also.
